I studied at a school that no longer exists, it was founded by Mr. Tao Xingzhi, "Chongqing Social University", which is now a concentration of failed students from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. That time, I saw the paintings of Professor Xu Shihou's "Jewel Flowers on the Windowsill" and liked them very much without ever thinking that 16 years later I would become his exhibition curator. So I applied for the painting major but my mother changed it to Chinese literature major. Thus, fate took a turn.

Round others' dreams is to round your own dream

Every summer, many university graduates are especially anxious because of "employment". My teacher Ms.Yan Chongxu sent me to Chongqing Youth Daily for internships; every day, I was the first one to arrive and the last one to leave with a set of toiletries in hand.

In 1996 on an early morning while cleaning the office, I received a call from Chongqing Federation for Differently Abled Persons about Yang Jian who was refused admission by schools due to his disability. He decided to leave this world but his family thought he shouldn't be given up easily so they brought him there.

I began calling out for help through media reports and eventually managed after running around recruitment offices and schools under scorching heat until he got admitted into a school with special assistance from recruiters. Ever since then he called me 'sister'. This article won China News Workers Association & China Disabled Person's Federation Good News Award II Grade later.

So rounding others' dreams is also rounding your own dream.

Keep calm and chase after it

In 1996 when I started making money writing articles in newspapers like Chongqing Youth Daily, same year joined Buddhism under Master Yu Xian as my spiritual guide where life experiences were both bitter and sweet with tears shed along with flowers received and applause enjoyed. Buddhism taught me how to maintain inner peace while chasing after things.

Then my career path turned towards journalism: doing news articles (Zhang Jun case), sinking ship cases (Hejiang incident), jumping off building cases (Dong Shukun case) etc., followed by cultural entertainment sections turning into news categories from text-based content towards multimedia platforms involving reportage on various events including concerts featuring famous artists such as Cui Jian or Jay Chou or Zhang Ziyi who visited Chengdu - all part of my journey working at Chengdu Times magazine focusing primarily on fashion trends covering art exhibitions & interviews held during Chengdu Fashion Week!
