【事迹介绍】：
segmenting segmenting, a 57-year-old woman from Xiangyuan County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. She is the Party Branch Secretary and Village Committee Director of Wangqiao Township's Fengdi Village.
In 1998, Segment married into Fengdi Village. To improve her life quality, she borrowed money to start a charcoal business and earned tens of thousands of yuan in two years. At that time, Fengdi Village was a truly poor village with dangerous classrooms for the local school children who had no teachers to teach them. Without any formal education herself, Segment decided to invest in building a new school for the village.
In 1999, Segment was elected as the Village Committee Director without participating in the election process due to her high popularity among villagers.
After taking office, Segment built schools and old-age homes for the villagers while sacrificing time with her husband suffering from terminal liver cancer. She also led villagers to plant medicinal herbs and transform rural electricity systems by investing millions of yuan out of her own pocket.
Last year, Segment was diagnosed with lymphoma after undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy; she suffered severe side effects but still continued working tirelessly every day thinking about how to do more for the villagers despite her deteriorating health condition.
